We are thrilled to announce that Lafayette, Colorado, has officially become a Sister City with Iquitos, Peru - a city deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest! Signed on December 1, 2025, by Lafayette Mayor JD Mangat and Iquitos Mayor Vladimir Chong, this partnership opens the door to a world of connection, learning, and cultural exchange between our two communities.
Through this partnership, One Voice 4 Change is building meaningful ways for Lafayette and Iquitos to learn from and grow with one another. The Sister City Partnership has a relationship-first approach – it’s about friendships, creativity,
and shared humanity across thousands of miles.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Sister City Committee. Whether you are passionate about education, the arts, science, community organizing, or simply love the idea of connecting cultures, there’s a place for you.
● Coordinate Cross-Cultural Projects: Help plan international exchanges, letter-writing initiatives, and digital classroom meetups.
● Build Community Ties: Develop local events and outreach to engage residents across Lafayette.
● Share Your Skills: Lend your expertise in translation, event planning, educational development, or grant writing.
