Let's take a look at how a simple collaboration has blossomed into life-changing opportunities.

It all started on July 15, 2020 with Building Ships in Belize.

One of the featured Belizean students was Deetra.

What Did We Discover?

  1. Susan Morrice told us to DREAM BIG! (Belize Natural Energy)

  2. Debra Wilcox explained that we must be agile. (The 3D Printing Store)

  3. Kate Migliazzo stressed the "People Aspects." (ChalkCast)

  4. Belizean educators Mr. Noralez, Ms. Pascacsio and Ms. Ellis shared perspectives and added context.

  5. Belizean industry leader Ms. Andrea stressed the importance of passion, eagerness to learn, and teamwork.

We took Deetra's Dream to the next level on Sept. 1, 2020. Three more global citizens weighed in on important strategies to help Deetra achieve her dreams.

  • Margaret Albrecht - Sr. Director Treasury, VISA, Inc.

  • Armida Santillan Contreras - Las Varas, Nayarit, Mexico (El Colegio Patria Founder and CPA)

  • Allison Doe - STEM Business Teacher (Colorado)

The advice given in this session led directly to a plan.

THE PLAN

  • Deetra will go into her community to discover the importance of accounting and finance there.

  • PathLight International has contacted STEM to see if Allison's class can connect with Deetra on a student-led journey.

  • Everyone above involved in Deetra's "Future Me" is now a network of global support for her dream.

Why It Matters

  • Deetra now has an entire network of support.

  • Industry experts now have a meaningful way to connect to students.

  • Students in the US will now discover what it means to be a global citizen.

  • El Colegio Patria now has an approach to helping their students in Mexico.

  • OV4C can celebrate a successful realization of our mission.

Consuelo and Beatrice just shared their initiative called "Future Me."

They will also help us present ideas for the future of learning at ASCEND 2020. (Nov. 17, 2020)
